FUDCon Day2

i needed 2 Aspirin today morning for my horrible headaches - FUDPub ... :))

The Ambassador Talk was planed for 09:00 am - and we started in time ;) - we could skip the intro talk because nobody wanted to learn from the Ambassador Group or had more interesting talks to visit - only expirienced Ambassadors showed up

we collected some interesting ideas for the future of the Group:

Some Ideas:
  • Ambassadors can help on the Overall Project Join Process
  • Ambassador act as liason to other groups
  • has to be adressed
  • are the taskjugglers to assign easy tasks

  • create Tutorials
  • more Talks
  • Events and Presentations not only on Tech Events
  • enable other Groups to show their talents on events

we ended up pretty fast on ressource distribution and Max promised some changes that he will announce as soon as they are decided.

Right now the Lightning talks are running and Clint and Larry are doing a great job exact in this moment to explain the approach to have
Events and Presentations not only on Tech Events.

FUDCon Tempe 2011 - After Talk

I had my talk about the Fedora Security Lab and the OSSTMM, i shared the session with Donald Buchan and so i had only 30min for my talk - this was the reason why i had to skip the introduction of the OSSTMM RAV - if you want to learn about it just approach me during this FUDCon 2011 or just take it out of the OSSTMM!

Right now we discuss about the Future of Spins in general lead by Jared.

FUDCon Tempe 2011 - State of the Union Address

Jared started the State of the Union Address, he talks about how Fedora evolved over the years and is making a good analogy that Fedora is like raising a child which matches the actual situation in Fedora pretty good.

To have open discussion is one of the key things and sets us apart from other Development Models. He believes Fedora is strong - and with this FUDCon it will get stronger - also because of all the great People. Jared encourages us to work together and to share what we are doing and what we are learning.

FUDCon Tempe 2011 has started

Session pitches has started the room is pretty much filled up with people - and now all are waiting for announcing the session schedule

FUDCon Tempe 2011 -1Day

it has almost started, People from all over the world were gathering in the Hotel Lobby at the Courtyard Tempe and waited to start the registration and getting their name badges and the welcome package.

It was good to meet many new Faces which are long-time Co-Workers in Fedora but also meet old friends again.

It was pointed out, that it is very important that people meet at 09:00 on 27.01. CDN 60 for the session pitches so i hope that people will be on time.
I still have not all my talks ready yet - and we have to wait if they get selected, anyway - if not and you are interested in it, just speak to me.

FUDCon Tempe 2011 - a looong Travel

Delta canceled my flight on 25.Jan.2011 and moved it to 24.Jan 2011, this means more than 30 hours break in Atlanta. This turns out to become a travel-adventure ;) I am in my hotel right now with a great view to the Airport Tower.

But honestly, i can use this break to work on my proposed tracks for this FUDCon ;)
- about the progress on SecurityLab and the new released OSSTMM 3,
- work with all interested Fellows on current Challenges in the Ambassadors Group,
- and want to collect proposals during a Governance Hackfest how Fedora could be governed in the future - as example to get better with logistics and budget management outside the US

i keep you updated ;)
