After Richard, Kushal and Nicu showed their panorama-pictures made with hugin - i remembered my own experiments with hugin - without autopano-sift. Setting the Controll Points by hand can be done easy and quick. And for me it is perfect enough!

I agree, it's not too much hassle to do the matching by hand. But the automatic option is nice.
